Expo 2025 Osaka, Danieli Group: technology, creativity and sustainability Made in Italy

With 18 out of 20 regions having joined the Expo 2025 Osaka, the Italy Pavilion showcased the excellence of Made in Italy through creativity, science, and innovation. Over 120 Italian and Japanese companies were involved in the institutional and cultural events organized within the framework of the universal exhibition.  Undisputed protagonist was Danieli Group, global leader in the production of steelmaking plants, which signed contracts worth over 40 million euros.

Not long before the start of the Expo, Japanese steel producer Shinkansai launched an innovative power-feeding system for electric arc furnace. This technology bears the signature of Danieli Group and was developed through its subsidiary Danieli Automation. A revolutionary system for the steel industry, it marks a significant step toward Green Steel transition. It allows the exclusive use of recycled scrap as raw material and an automatic melting profile adjustment, offering enormous advantages in terms of energy savings, increased productivity and compatibility with renewable energy sources.

Sponsor of the Italy Pavilion, Danieli Group presented an extraordinary event celebrating the combination of technology, creativity, and sustainability: a concert where the electric furnace becomes a musical instrument. “Danieli’s presence as a partner of the Italy Pavilion allows us to showcase not only one of Italy’s technological excellences but also to highlight how these innovations are designed to meet global sustainability goals – commented Mario Vattani, Italy’s General Commissioner at Expo Osaka – “Green Steel represents the future, and we are proud to contribute to a change that combines innovation, respect for the environment, and an international vision”.

Antonello Mordeglia, President of Danieli Automation, also emphasized that Danieli Group’s technology “not only improves production efficiency but also fully respects sustainability criteria”. Then he added: “This collaboration with Japan demonstrates how innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand”.
