Coca-Cola strengthens Piedmont’s industrial fabric

Coca-Cola Italy highlights its significant role within the Piedmontese economy by presenting the results of a study conducted by SDA Bocconi School of Management on the company’s socio-economic impact, with a specific focus on Piedmont, the region hosting the Lurisia bottling plant in Roccaforte Mondovì (CN) and the CCH CircularPET facility in Gaglianico (BI). In the Biella area, up to 30,000 tons of recycled plastic are processed annually to produce new bottles made of 100% rPET. In 2024, these activities generated resources amounting to 26 million euros, equivalent to 0.02% of the regional GDP, distributed to key local economic actors in the form of wages, purchases of goods and services, investments, taxes, and contributions.

“Thanks to its industrial presence, Coca-Cola directly and indirectly supports over 2,000 jobs (0.1% of total employment in Piedmont), with a total of 4,100 people benefiting from the incomes generated along the company’s value chain; for each employee, approximately 23 additional jobs are created in the local economy. Looking at the business sector — according to a company statement — in 2024 Coca-Cola purchased goods and services from over 100 local companies, with a total value exceeding 21 million euros. Of these, 22% are large enterprises, 29% medium-sized, 41% small, and 8% micro-enterprises, underscoring Coca-Cola’s role in the industrial fabric of Piedmont.”

“The presence of Coca-Cola represents a significant value for Piedmont: not only for the economic and employment impact it generates, but also for its ability to build strong ties with the local community,” says Giangiacomo Pierini, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director of Coca-Cola HBC Italy. “Its activities help strengthen local competitiveness, enhance excellence, and create new opportunities for shared growth.”
